HCI foldable container endures test Container Safety Convention
Holland Container Innovations is the first company in the world to succesfully pass the tests of the Container Safety Convention
(CSC) with a
40ft HC Foldable Container. The
CSC certfication proves that the steel foldable container meets the same requirements as a standard container. "The test are tough", Simon Bosschieter explains, "For example, the container is lifted when loaded with twice the maximum allowable
payload. This load is over 60 metric tons, the weight of a fully loaded Boeing 737. The container passed the test effortlessly." When the container is folded
it takes up only 25% of the volume of a standard container. The space saving can deliver a cost saving of up to 25% for shippers on land and sea. The HCI Foldable Container is currently in the last stage of development and financing. In cooperation with an Asian container manufacturer and a
shipping line the market introduction will take place next year.(HCI)
