Interest still strong for 747-8F
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of General Electric, announced it
will buy two 747-8 freighters from Boeing.
“The two 747-8 freighters will broaden our cargo
portfolio with a high-demand freighter that has a well-established operator base,” said Norman Liu, president of GECAS.
Boeing flew the new 747-8F to the Paris Air Show along with promises that it
was ‘100 per cent fairly certain’ it
will be able to deliver the now 18-month-late aircraft to launch customer Cargolux by September.
