Port Misrata blocked

The military government of Muammar Gaddafi has sealed off made Misurata port so it can no longer be used.

Any ship attempting to enter the port will be attacked.

This was reported by the Libyan state television. NATO had earlier reported that its vessels clear mines in the port. The explosives were placed by forces loyal to dictator Gaddafi.

Misurata is the main opposition stronghold in western Libya. Gaddafi troops have surrounded the city. (Source: NT)
