Dutch transport sector recovers slightly

The Dutch transport sector recovered slightly last year but the effects of the economic crisis are still being felt, according to sector organisation TLN on Friday.

The situation is still far from stable and ‘too much optimism could be dangerous’, TLN chairman Alexander Sakkers told the Volkskrant.

Last year’s growth was confined to the first half and there was a contraction in the third quarter, TLN said.

Some 19% of transport firms booked a loss last year and 26% broke even. (source: DutchNews)
