Santos Brasil: Container handling breaks record
Total TEUs on the three terminals of the company has 45% increase. From July to September 2010, the operation of customs warehousing, Santos Brazil Logistics posted volume of 19,848 containers stored, up 53% as compared to the third quarter of 2009 and 36% higher than in the second quarter of 2010.
Vehicle Terminal (VTE) also obtained the largest movement in the period with growth of 79.7% and greater involvement of heavy vehicles exported to the detriment of light vehicles. In the first nine months of 2010, the VTE increased by 83.6% in volume of vehicles moved.
