Rio Grande Port receives large equipment

The Port of Rio Grande today receives new equipment purchases for the movement of containerized cargo noTerminal Private Tecon Rio Grande S / A. The download includes two super post-panamax cranes STS (Ship to Shore Crane), and four RTG (Rubber Tyred gantries), and are manufactured by Chinese company ZPMC.

The STSs are used to load and unload vessels with capacity of 50 tonnes and can reach up to 22 containers wide. RTGs already has the job of moving loads in the yard capacity of 40 tons and can operate over a six containers high and seven wide plus a container.

The equipment will be transported already assembled aboard the Zen Hua 23, and the landing operation of the vessel will be made directly to where the equipment will be used. Administration of the Port of Rio Grande expects a substantial gain in productivity in container handling, with new acquisitions.
