New Zealand charges international freight forwarders

New Zealand is charging multinational freight forwarders for fixing surcharges and fees on airfreight to and from New Zealand from 2001.
Those companies charged are: the Brinks Company and Bax Global (before it was bought by the Deutsche Bahn Group); several DB Schenker companies (also of the Deutsche Bahn Group); Eagle Global Logistics (part of Ceva Logistics); GeoLogistics International – Bermuda; Kuehne and Nagel International; and Panalpina World Transport.
The commission has already reached settlements with Eagle and GeoLogistics.
The Commerce Commission says that these latest charges are separate from those previously made against airlines, such as Air New Zealand, for price fixing airfreight security and fuel surcharges.
