Rio Grande Port - Complex hits new record of movements
Volume of cargo reached is 13% above the same period of 2009. The Port of Rio Grande (RS) returned to a new record, having surpassed historic drives in the first half of this year. From January to July, the port complex has reached 16.7 million tons disposed. Until then, the record was 2008, when operations totaled 15.9 million tons.

Segment load all sectors had increased: bulk solid (up 14.8%), general cargo (up by 15.5%) and liquid bulk (4.2% above the previous year). Another sector that has been the addition of vessels accounted for 1876 units (3.8% more than in 2009).
Shipments of grain totaled 6.3 million tons, up 2.6%. Among the charges with greater increase in this sector are soybean meal, with 1.3 million tonnes (+17.6%) and wheat, with 915 800 tonnes (+17.6%). Although the operations recorded an increase of soybean oil (+11.6%), reaching 243 900 tonnes. Another highlight was the barley has reached 24.7 thousand tons, while in 2009 this charge was not observed. Contrary growth were shipments of rice (-37.8%), maize (-19.8%) and soybeans (-1.7%).
Also obtained successful landings of cereals, up 6.5%, totaling 907 400 tons. The highlights were the soybean oil which increased by 236.1% (62,900 tons) and soybean meal which recorded an increase of 213.8% (366,400 tonnes). On the drive has been added landing of barley by 26 200 tonnes. Falls occurred in the receipt of rice (-84%), wheat (-55%) and soybeans (-17.3%).
