MSC Belgium introduces new sealing procedure

Recently, MSC Belgium has posted the following message to its clients and introduced a sealing procedure as from 01.01.2010:

We noticed we are receiving more and more containers for which the seals are put in the wrong place.

There is only one correct place to put the seal. If a container is delivered with the seal at the wrong place, the container will be correctly sealed by the terminal operator at a fixed cost of Euro 75/seal/container.

The seal at the bottom is only to be used as an extra seal and is considered to be a secondary seal.

MSC will consider a container wrongly sealed as not sealed at all.

Containers arriving at the terminal not sealed at all will be sealed by the terminal operator at a fixed cost of Euro 75/seal/container.
